"Wow, you learn the piano! I've always wanted to play!"
These words I hear from nearly every adult I tell that I take piano lessons. I started learning the piano when I was 4 years old. I had the misfortune of having a very traumatic experience learning from catholic nuns who taught by fear and punishment. Ken had taught 4 of my 5 children the piano over the years. As they moved on to other ventures my husband and I both grabbed their lessons. One of the best things I've ever done! Learning with Ken over the past 10 years has brought me a joy I had not previously associated with playing the piano. He brings the music alive as he draws across many styles to give me challenges and extend my skills without any pressure.
Now when I think of the playing the piano I smile and if you ask me "Why?", I say "Why not!"

Ken is an amazing music teacher! He is kind, encouraging, professional, and able to gently stretch and progress his students. His manner with children and teens is very special. He treats them with respect and wants to encourage them to really enjoy and understand music. We have only begun lessons with Ken this year, but the children are learning lots and Ken has been able to go back to some basics which they had missed with previous teachers. He has had so many years of experience, and it really shows in his teaching.
